Gather with the spooks and spirits of the season as NorthEast Theatre Ensemble and the Schenectady Historical Society partner once again to bring you a unique, original piece of site-specific historic theatre! Miss Gladys Noice, our Victorian hostess, has planned a darkly delectable soirėe for all as thoroughly bewitched as she is by occult practices and the paranormal. Though her companion, Miss Lavender Abernathy, is much more reticent to enjoy these far from intellectual pursuits, both women are pleased to warmly welcome you to their new home. Miss Gladys has invited a particular excitement for the events: the Darcy sisters, two renowned spiritualist sisters, whose sensational prowess and skill in such matters may successfully summon our region’s most restless dead.
Our séance will take place at the Brouwer House, an intimate Stockade home whose walls have seen hundreds of years of local history. Our hostesses, their spiritualist guests, and perhaps the spectres themselves will chill and tantalize you with haunting accounts of lost love, longing, and even murder. Come in costume if you desire, and immerse yourself in our turn-of-the-century communal with the spirits of bygone eras. Just in time for Halloween, with a special performance on All Hallow’s Eve. Light refreshments served.
