Audition Tips & Guidelines for Open Calls

- Please prepare 16 bars, or approximately 30-45 seconds, of an upbeat song or ballad in your key. Choose a piece that you are comfortable with and one that shows off your strength. We will have an accompanist and sheet music is strongly encouraged. First time picking an audition song? Read this helpful article and feel free to contact us if you need help with sheet music - we've got lots of it!

- Wear comfortable clothing and appropriate shoes (no sandals) as you will be asked to learn a short dance routine.

Every auditioner will be required to sing AND dance or move. It is ok if you do not feel strong at both skills, there are parts for actors, singers, and dancers, but we want the ability to evaluate what you do and how you learn.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame -The Musical, presented by Lorenzo Ford

From the Academy Award-winning team of Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz, comes a lushly scored retelling of Victor Hugo’s epic story of love, acceptance and what it means to be a hero.

Directed by Frankie Navarro, Choreographer: Tiffany Hosch, Music Director: Tony Seepersad

Rehearsals: TBD

Performances: Summer 2021

The musical begins as the bells of Notre Dame sound through the famed cathedral in fifteenth-century Paris. Quasimodo, the deformed bell-ringer who longs to be & Out There, observes all of Paris reveling in the Feast of Fools. Held captive by his devious caretaker, the archdeacon Dom Claude Frollo, he escapes for the day and joins the boisterous crowd, only to be treated cruelly by all but the beautiful gypsy, Esmeralda.

Quasimodo isn’t the only one captivated by her free spirit, though – the handsome Captain Phoebus and Frollo are equally enthralled. As the three vie for her attention, Frollo embarks on a mission to destroy the gypsies – and it’s up to Quasimodo to save them all.
