Clean the Block – 5th ward Community Cleanup
Clean the Block is a monthly community initiative restoring pride and cleanliness across Houston neighborhoods. Volunteers work together to remove illegal dumping, trash, and debris while creating healthier, greener communities.

10:00-10:30am Check-In, meeting the community,
10:30-10:45am Logistics and Sponsor Announcements
10:45-1:00pm Full on community beautification!
1:00-2:00pm Meet back at main site, network, lunch and packing up
Volunteers will work together to remove trash, illegal dumping, plant trees and debris from the neighborhood. We’ll provide all necessary supplies—including gloves, bags, and tools.
This is more than just a cleanup—it’s about showing up, taking pride in our neighborhoods, and building community together.
Waiver Required Before Participating
All volunteers must complete the waiver before receiving equipment:
What We’ll Be Doing
• Removing illegal dumping and litter
• Cleaning streets, sidewalks, and vacant lots
What We Provide
All cleanup supplies and equipment will be provided:
• Gloves
• Trash bags
• Cleanup tools
• Safety equipment
• Refreshments
• Complementary Tree to take home!
Just bring comfortable clothes, boots if you have them and a willingness to make an impact.
