The Autism Society of Central Wisconsin is a volunteer-led nonprofit dedicated to building a more inclusive community for people with autism. As a chapter of the Autism Society of Greater Wisconsin, our team of 12 volunteers provides resources, advocacy, and a sense of community for individuals and families across 11 counties in Central and Northern Wisconsin. We offer support groups, family events, and community programs that empower people with autism to live fully at every stage of life.

Bios of Presenters:
Shannon Wadinski has been volunteering with the Autism Society of Central Wisconsin for nearly 10 years, dedicating her time and energy to supporting individuals with autism and their families. She joined the Board of Directors in 2019 as Secretary and has served as Board President since 2021. Shannon’s involvement is deeply personal, her nephew has autism, which fuels her passion for advocacy, inclusion, and creating meaningful opportunities for connection. She is committed to helping families feel supported, building community awareness, and strengthening resources so individuals with autism can thrive. Through her leadership, Shannon continues to make a positive impact and foster a more inclusive community across Central and Northern Wisconsin.
Heidi Lehman is a WSPEI Family-School Partnership Coordinator in northern Wisconsin. Living in rural Wisconsin, Heidi appreciates the complexity in accessing systems of care for children, especially for her 4 children who are diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum. Heidi has a passion for connecting families to the services and support they need. Heidi serves on the Board of Directors for Wisconsin Family Ties, Family Voices of Wisconsin, and the Autism Society of Central Wisconsin.
