Ready to hit the trail but not sure where to start? Join Cincinnati Hikes and Arrow Adventure for a fun and informative backpacking experience designed for beginners - or just those that want to hike with fellow outdoorsy peeps!
The day kicks off at 10:00 AM with a scenic 4–6 mile hike at Caesar Creek State Park, guided by Cincinnati Hikes. It’s the perfect way to stretch your legs, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with fellow adventurers. The group will meet at Caesar Creek Visitor Center, 4020 N Clarksville Rd in Waynesville.
After the hike, join us at Arrow Adventure at 12:30 PM for a Beginner Backpacking Class. This session will cover all the essential gear and knowledge you need to get started on your backpacking journey—including how to pack smart, stay safe, and choose the best trails for beginners. Feel free to bring in lunch from walkable, neighboring restaurants on Mulberry Street!
Enjoy delicious food samples from Essential Provisions and treat your taste buds to $2 boxed wine tastings—so you can decide which wine is actually worth its weight in your pack!
Whether you're planning your first overnight or just curious about the backpacking lifestyle, this class has everything you need to get started with confidence. And if you have backpacking or hiking gear, apparel or shoes that are in good shape - bring them in to consign! We'll give the Cincy Hikers 5% off of our normal consignment rate for any gear that is brought in during the class.
Come for the hike, stay for the wine—and leave ready to hit the backcountry!
