Spruce & Steel Music is a small, family-owned musical instrument sales and small repairs shop, serving the Havre and Hi-Line communities in Montana. We specialize is stringed instruments (guitars, basses, ukuleles, mandolins, and banjos), but carry or have access to a variety of drums and other percussion, keyboards, and band instruments, as well as live sound equipment and accessories.

Join us for a summer of incredible songwriters and the stories that have shaped these artists, their style, and the music they will share at our unique concert series, Backyard Storytellers, at Spruce & Steel Music in Havre, Montana. This is an event built for those who appreciate the artistry behind the music, the beauty of a raw performance, and who enjoy a relaxed, intimate concert setting.
Spruce & Steel Music sets the perfect backdrop for our concert series with its warm and inviting backyard atmosphere. Set within the often overlooked and underrated artistic community of Havre, Montana, the venue provides an ideal place to unwind and enjoy a night of great music set against a beautiful Hi-Line summer evening.
What to Expect
Each concert in the series will feature a different singer-songwriter who will not only perform their songs but also share the inspirations and stories behind their music and their unique musical perspective. Expect a night of beautiful melodies, compelling stories, and a community of music lovers with whom to share it.
Some seating will be available at small tables on the patio, around the fire pit, or in other spaces throughout the yard, but you may want to bring a lawn chair, as most seating will be on the grass.
Vic's Place will be in attendance, providing a cash bar (credit & debit okay, too) where you can get beer, wine, soda, and water throughout the evening. The Wild Fig will provide individual charcuterie boards and Spruce & Steel Music will be open before and after the performance to give guests a chance to browse or buy at a discounted rate. All tickets include one free drink, your own charcuterie board, and a 10% discount on all music store merchandise during the event.
About The Vibe
While these concerts are family-friendly events and everyone is welcome, they were conceived as events that are probably best suited to adults and older kids (12+). It is our hope that attendees will be respectful of the artists and the intimacy they develop with each concert's audience. This event is an opportunity to engage with the artist and their art in meaningful ways that bring us closer to the music and, by extension, each other. We hope you will do your part to ensure that everyone is able to walk away feeling that strong sense of connection, free from distractions that would dampen the atmosphere we all hope to foster.
