What You Will Learn

Have you always wanted to learn how to make sourdough bread at home but didn’t think you could? Join our master bread baker, Chef Bonnie, for a morning of starters and loaves. She’ll have you cranking out homemade loaves in no time! Each guest will be given the opportunity to take home their own loaf of sourdough to continue proofing and bake at home!  Additionally, all attendees of the class will be given the opportunity to take home some sourdough starter to feed, nourish and make future loaves with (and hopefully hand down to your family for generations).  

PLEASE BRING THE FOLLOWING WITH YOU TO CLASS: 

  • A non reactive medium sized bowl (Plastic or glass will work great) to transport your dough ball/loaf home in. 
  • If you would like to take some starter home, please bring a jar that can hold up to a cup (8 oz).

 

Menu

4 Different Types of Sourdough Bread: Traditional Loaf, Seeded/Nut Loaf, Honey Wheat Loaf and Irish Loaf

Grilled Sourdough Bread, Arugula, Goat Cheese and Black Olives

An assortment of baked goods made with sourdough starter: Sourdough Crackers and Sourdough Rye Brownies

What To Expect

Great baking is about more than just recipes—it's about celebrating pastry experiences with a foodie community. In this class, you'll work together with other students in a fun, hands-on environment led by our professional chef instructor. 

  • Instructor: Chef Bonnie
  • Length: Approximately 3 hours
  • Format: Hands-On. You will work with other students in groups of up to 2 people. You will be standing, cooking, and working for most of the class, so please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back. At the conclusion of the class, everyone will enjoy the menu items created.
  • Restrictions: Ages 16 and older. Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

 

Please bring the following with you to class:

  • If you would like to take some starter home, please bring a jar that can hold up to a cup (8 oz).

 

All students will receive 10% off any scheduled public class(es) purchased that evening.

 

Experience Options 

  • General Admission: Arrive at the start of class.
  • Mimosa kits will be made available the morning of the class. Otherwise, the bar will be closed. 
  • Allergies: We will attempt to accommodate any true medical allergy with advance notice. Please indicate allergies when completing ticket purchase.
  • Allergy Restrictions: Unfortunately, there is no gluten-free options for this menu.
