Saturday night will incorporate Berea's fourth Saturday contra dance. You can expect some of the Levi Jackson dances to be on the program. In the tradition of Levi Jackson, Saturday's lunch and dinner will be prepared cooperatively on site. All dancers should plan to pitch in on either meal prep or clean up for Saturday lunch or dinner. There will be no formal program on Sunday, but there will be a local brunch.
The dance Levi Jackson Rag was written by Pat Shaw for the dance hall at Levi Jackson State Park. In this video, the Berea College Country Dancers, under the direction of John Ramsay, dance Levi Jackson Rag at the inauguration of the Russell Acton Folk Center, our venue for Balance the Star Dance Weekend.
