In 2011 Ballarat Songwriters Night commenced with Rex Hardware gathering together some our top local wordsmiths. The showcase events were continued in 2012 and again in 2021 and we are pleased to present this latest version of the series at Live at Union Square.
Marc Oswin is a captivating solo artist whose music weaves heartfelt lyrics with mesmerizing melodies. Known for his dynamic performances and raw, emotional sound, Marc creates an intimate atmosphere that draws audiences in with every note. Whether performing his original compositions or offering fresh takes on beloved classics, his music resonates deeply, blending soul, folk, and acoustic pop influences. Brendan Skinner has been immersed in music from a young age, with the early loss of his mother profoundly shaping his artistic path. He began playing guitar as a child and spent his formative years teaching himself piano during recess and lunch at school, honing his musical ability. Throughout the 2000s, Brendan was an active figure in the Victorian music scene, supporting notable acts like Josh Pyke, Juan Alban, The Panics, Tex Perkins, and Carus Thompson.
Arian Lane Hailing from central Victoria, Arian Lane is a seasoned folk singer-songwriter with a whole lot of 90's pop and grunge sensibility. Whether fronting dream-pop band Pyrex or performing solo, Lane has a signature haunting vocal style and lush guitar tones, making her an act not to be missed.
Live at Union Square is a great new series featuring original Australian music in an intimate setting at Trades Hall.
The series is supported by Music Australia - an Australian government initiative - Ballarat Regional Trades and Labour Council and H Squared Studios.
