Description
Celebrate the arrival of spring with the HSPVA Symphonic Band on Tuesday, March 24. The program opens with “Chester" by William Schuman, a powerful setting of a Revolutionary-era hymn by William Billings—especially meaningful as the United States approaches its 250th anniversary. The band will also perform "Lincolnshire Posy” by Percy Grainger, Grainger’s classic collection of English folk songs, and "D'un Matin de Printemps" by Lili Boulanger, a bright and colorful work that captures the feeling of a spring morning.
