BASIC IMPROV FOR PERFORMERS: LEVEL ONE is an 7-week foundational course designed for those ready to step onstage, explore performance, and begin their journey as an improviser. Whether your goal is to perform improv, strengthen acting skills, enhance character work for voice acting, or sharpen your instincts for cold reads and auditions, this class builds the groundwork. You’ll learn the core rules of improv while beginning to explore short form through 2–4 person games inspired by formats seen as seen on “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”
Through guided exercises and performance-based games, you’ll develop strong listening, quick decision-making, character creation, and stage presence in a supportive, no-judgment environment. This class is about stepping into the work. You’ll practice thinking on your feet, making bold choices, and bringing characters to life with clarity and confidence. By the end of the session, you won’t just understand improv—you’ll be performing it. After seven weeks of building your foundation, you’ll take the stage in a live Student Showcase, performing for an audience in a fully improvised set alongside your classmates.
