Ages: 18+

 

Learn the basics of sound, signal flow, and PA equipment. Hands-on time will be spent with digital and analog mixers, and different types of microphones. This workshop is for you if you have little to no experience with sound and you want to learn more and musicians who want to be able to mix their own performances (experience with music is helpful but not required). This is a cumulative three-session course, each class building off the previous one. By the end of this course you will learn how to operate a basic PA system for solo to trio acts. 

 

The Parlor Room Nonprofit and School of Music's mission is to: Promote a vibrant musical community in downtown Northampton, MA for musicians of all abilities and at all stages of their career. The Parlor Room will bring nationally touring and local acts to our listening room to provide an exceptional experience for the artist and audience and guide musicians and anyone interested in a career in the music industry through our school of music.
