Bat Walk

  • October 1, 2025 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
  • Ushaw Historic House

    Woodland Road
    County Durham, Durham DH7 7DW
Description

On Wednesday 1 October, join us to see some of our resident bats before they hibernate for winter.

With expert guidance from the Durham Bat Group, you’ll use special bat detectors to track down and count the fascinating bats that call Ushaw’s woodlands home.

This is recommended for families with children age 7+, and all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Participants should be dressed appropriately for the weather and terrain, and should bring a torch.

Please be aware, this event may have to be cancelled at short notice if the weather is too bad for the bats to be flying.
