Share This project made by Jacqueline Yang and Vitesse Disney, is for the youth of San Francisco and the Bay Area to have an opportunity to perform and showcase their work in a space that supports the process of making the dance community more widespread and diverse. We wish to address the issue of the absences of dance performances due to COVID and the fact that most people don’t get the support to have a dance performance. Our company’s mission is to empower youth and diverse dancers around the Bay Area through accessible dance performances. We believe in advocating for the youth of the Bay Area by creating more dance opportunities and engagement from the Bay Area communities.
Description
Hi Ya'll! We are two high school students at Ruth Asawa School of the Arts. Jackie and I, Vitesse, have been dancing for a majority of our life, meaning lots of performances. We both saw a lack of dance performances around the Bay Area for the youth. As a part of our Senior Seminar class we have created this performance opportunity for anyone in the Bay Area. This show is about how the Bay Area has shaped us as dancers whether it be the people, buildings, or even the food! This subject is broad and meant for the dancers to explore what this means to them and their journey through dance. We hope you will come to see this wonderful show and support these amazing young artists in this performance. Thank you!
