Connecticut's premier professional choir, delighting audiences since 1974. Connecticut Choral Artists - CONCORA presents choral music at the highest level, from the Baroque to the present day. CONCORA programs challenge, excite, educate, and inspire audiences across New England. Under the direction of Chris Shepard, Artistic Director, the ensemble’s versatility is displayed in its wide range of repertoire and in the crafting of ensembles from among the choir’s roster of singers.

CONCORA proudly celebrates the 25th Anniversary of the Summer Festival in 2025! Avocational adult, high school, and college singers from throughout the region come together to rehearse and perform alongside CONCORA's professional members as the CONCORA Summer Festival Chorus. Led by CONCORA Artistic Director Chris Shepard, this year's program Before Bach and Beyond features works by Baroque master Johann Sebastian Bach and the composers who influenced and were influenced by him.
Selections include choruses from Bach's Wir danken dir, Gott, wir danken dir, BWV 29, Jesu, nun sei gepreiset, BWV 41, and Singet dem Herrn ein neue Lied, BWV 190 as well as Dieterich Buxtehude's Befiehl, dem Engel, das er komm, BuxWV10, the first movement of C.P.E. Bach's Magnificat, Geistliches Lied, Op. 30 by Johannes Brahms, and Knut Nystedt's arrangement Immortal Bach.
Before Bach and Beyond takes place at Bethany Covenant Church in Berlin on Saturday, August 2 at 3:00PM.
