Share Explore our National Park in a fun and exciting way with a powerful tool - your cellphone camera! Join the Dunes Learning Center team in a two and a half hour program packed with fun. We will start our time together at Dunes Learning Center learning from local photography expert Donna Lind. After that, we will travel to the National Park Service Portage Lakefront Trail. There we will go on a guided photography hike along the shore of Lake Michigan.
Donna Lind is a resident of Northwest Indiana, a lifelong Midwesterner, a dedicated advocate of our natural surroundings and a photographer who has spent countless hours on the trails and shoreline of the Indiana Dunes State and National Park. She is rarely on a trail without a camera and she frequently gets lost behind her lens, becoming oblivious to driving snow, flooded trails, spring mud and burning summer sand to capture the diverse beauty along our south shoreline. Her passion is to share photographs that celebrate the Indiana Dunes through awareness and education that will, in turn, help others discover the Indiana Dunes for themselves.
The photography walk will be around 1 hour and take place on relatively flat terrain and a paved trail. Please be prepared to have your personal transportation from Dunes Learning Center to Portage Lakefront Trail. National Park day passes will be provided to all participants for parking and Portage Lakefront Trail. This event is limited to participants 18 years of age and older.
Tickets are sold on a first come first serve basis.
