Beginners Ceramic Pottery Class (June 21-24)

Description

FOUR MORNINGS: -- Recommended for students having finished 5th grade and up.  

-Tuesday (10:00 - 12:00)
-Wednesday (10:00 - 12:00)
-Thursday (10:00 - 12:00)
-Friday (10:00 - 12:00)

• At the end of the week, each artist will have created one of each:  pinch pot, coil pot, slab pot, armature structure
• Students will learn basic clay use, understanding of clay tools, and vocabulary to aid in understanding of ceramic pottery
• If time allows, we will weave in various aspects of art history and ceramic artists

Students will need to return to the studio a couple of weeks after class to pick up their finished, fired pieces. At that time, they may choose to take their bisque home as is, or they can paint their piece in the studio for the price of a studio fee ($6 per piece). Studio fee includes paint, glazing and final firing in the kiln.

Class limited to 16 participants - Due to the possibility of limited spacing, we encourage parents to drop off and pick up at the end of class.

CLASS TIME: Class begins promptly at the time listed on the ticket! Please arrive a few minutes prior to start time to park, check-in, unwind, & get seated! If you are late to the class you can still paint, but catching up is your responsibility. Parking may be available behind the studio in the small parking lot. You are welcome to come in our back door.
