Join us Sunday, Nov. 9, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Broadside for BFHS’s first-ever fall music festival! Live music, food, fun for all ages — and don’t miss the VIP Prelude Party featuring Delfeayo Marsalis from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Benjamin Franklin High School has been New Orleans’ top public high school since its founding in 1957, recognized nationally for preparing bright, diverse students to succeed in life. From desegregating in 1963 to reopening as the city’s first public charter after Hurricane Katrina, Franklin has always led with vision and resilience. Today, with 1,000 students and a reputation as Louisiana’s No. 1 school, Franklin continues to inspire the next generation of leaders, artists, and innovators

This year, Franklin is launching Bennaroo, its first-ever music festival! The festival will feature student and professional bands and is expected to draw more than 1,000 alumni, families, and friends for a night of music and community. Proceeds will benefit the music program and student travel fund, helping purchase instruments, expand opportunities for performance and competition, and reduce costs for global learning experiences. With a goal of raising $57,000 in honor of the year of our founding, Bennaroo offers sponsors the chance to celebrate New Orleans’ premier public school while supporting the future of Franklin students.

FAQ

  • The showtime listed for the event is the time the event starts. Doors will generally open an hour before the listed show time unless otherwise listed.
  • We allow pets during the day, but not at night for music (anything after 7pm). Service animals are always allowed
  •  Please do not park in the Broad Theater parking lot. We have a parking lot for The Broadside and plenty street parking available on Toulouse and Lafitte. If you would like to be escorted to your car, please ask the Sheriff on duty. You may also park in the Auto Zone parking lot if they are closed. 
  • Our outdoor space has a variety of seating options such as benches, picnic tables, chairs, and stools. If you require a seat for health reasons or disability, please ask a staff member and they can provide you with a chair.
