ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
DeAndra Forde, MPH (she/her), or simply D, to her colleagues, family, and friends, is a rising third-year Doctorate student at Drexel University. Her research centers around the topic of minimizing household food waste by providing nutrition and culinary education; which combines her passions of strong commitment to sustainability and community well-being.
D is interested in researching and creating sustainable food systems, drawing from her background in dietetics—she’s Registered Dietitian Eligible. Her path into the world of food and nutrition is not just academic, but personal. D has loves cooking, entertaining, and sharing her cultural heritage through food. For her, nourishment goes beyond the plate; it's a meaningful way to connect, educate, and create positive change.
Emily Rodia (she/her) is the co-founder of Good Buy Supply, Philadelphia's first & largest sustainable general store dedicated to low-waste, plastic-free alternatives for everyday living.
