  • Coil & Cord

    200 6th Street
    Brooklyn, New York 11215
Description

Upcoming dates:
Wednesday, September 23, 7pm-10pm

This event is designed to center BIPOC individuals and help build connection, share skills, and enjoy rope/shibari play in a welcoming, affirming space.

This jam welcomes BIPOC participants of any level of rope experience, whether you’re exploring rope for the first time or deepening your practice. The event features an opening circle, an optional intro to rope basics & safety for beginners, and open play time where you can practice techniques, get inspired by diverse rope styles and approaches, meet other BIPOC rope enthusiasts, and tie at your own pace!

We highly encourage making connections at the jam which you may find easier as a solo attendee. That being said, you can attend the jam solo or with a tying partner or several.

This event is exclusively for BIPOC participants. If you're unsure if you are "BIPOC enough" to attend this event, you are--and we welcome & support you. If you do not identify as BIPOC, we appreciate you, but this event is not for you--there are various other rope jams at Coil & Cord and other venues that are not exclusively for BIPOC individuals.

What to bring: bring rope if you have it - otherwise you're welcome to borrow rope at the event

Ages 18+
Same-day negative COVID test strongly encouraged
$10-$40 sliding scale
