Description

Led by Certified California Naturalist Carolyn Greene, our exploration of resident and seasonal birds of Sugarloaf’s varied habitats, includes birds inhabiting recently burned landscapes. Our emphasis will be on ID’ing birds by their sounds. This will be a easy walk with lots of stops for speaking and listening. We’ll meet at the White Barn. Bring face coverings, binoculars if you have them, and good shoes for rocky and uneven trails. We will observe safe distance walking. Parking fees apply; heavy rain cancels.

City Nature Challenge runs from April 30th to May 3rd, 2021. It’s a bioblitz-style competition where cities are in a contest against each other to see who can make the most observations of nature, who can find the most species, and who can engage the most people.
This event is part of the Challenge along with other events scheduled from 4/30-5/3.
