Kinky Smoove (9 pm):
Houston’s own Kinky Smoove is a genre-bending neo-blues band. Led by guitarist and producer Ross_theArtist, this psychedelic neo-blues band blends gospel, funk, country, rock, and R&B into a high-voltage live experience that refuses to sit still.
Formed in 2022, Kinky Smoove has quickly established a reputation for exceptional musicianship and a sound that transcends decades and dance floors. Drawing on military-band precision and street-level groove, Kinky Smoove is sure to make you move. Every show is its own sonic trip, anchored in raw talent and a fearless commitment to sound without boundaries.
Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears (10 pm):
Black Joe Lewis is one of the most authentic and unfiltered voices in contemporary American music.
When the pandemic shut down touring, he started pouring concrete to support his family. No press release, no headlines, just real life.
His sound has always been raw, loud, and rooted in tradition: a blend of gutbucket blues, garage soul, and unrelenting guitar work.
Joe and his band, the Honeybears, broke onto the national stage more than a decade ago, channeling the explosive energy of James Brown, Lightnin’ Hopkins, and the MC5 into a live show that couldn’t be faked.
He’s toured and shared stages with Sharon Jones, Charles Bradley, Cedric Burnside, Lightnin' Malcolm, the Dirtbombs, Detroit Cobras, and the Strange Boys; a near-complete lineup of the most influential soul and garage acts of the last 25 years.
While much of that era’s sound has been watered down or folded into pop, Black Joe Lewis remains one of the last true links to the grit and grind of that original movement.
His music is not about trend: it’s about truth, sweat, and that indescribable thing that happens live.
