ABOUT THE PERFORMERS
John Kaboff has performed at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The United States Department of State, Strathmore Hall and has been a repeat concerto soloist with local orchestras. His concert at Strathmore Hall was acclaimed by The Montgomery County Sentinel as ”beguilingly lyrical” and in “top form”.
In 2025, Mr. Kaboff performed in live broadcast at the Department of Justice as part of the Federal Interagency Holocaust Remembrance Program. He has appeared with Los AnCellos, the South Florida Symphony and in Carnegie Hall and artist at the Tennessee Cello Workshop. In 2025-2026 he gave a series of lecture recitals on the musical connection and inspiration of 20th century solo cello music to the Suites for Solo Cello by Johann Sebatian Bach. In addition to this project, Mr. Kaboff will perform his transcriptions of the violin music of Ernest Bloch on the cello for observances of Kristallnacht and Yom HaShoah.
Mr. Kaboff’s students have won numerous competitions resulting in Carnegie Hall recital concerts and former students hold orchestra positions throughout the USA and Europe. His studio ensemble, the “Bow Lightlys”, were featured at the World Cello Congress III, where they performed in an internationally broadcast workshop with world famous cellist, Yo-Yo Ma. They performed at the Sixth American Cello Congress as part or Mr. Kaboff’s appearance as a guest lecturer and perform annually at the Tennessee Cello Workshop. In 2022 and 2024 they appeared in Carnegie Hall and will perform again in April, 2026
Mr. Kaboff adjudicates competitions such as the Third World Cello Congress’s Master Class Competition, Johansen International String Competition, and the Washington International Competition. As a frequent guest lecturer, he conducts master classes and performs at music schools nationally and internationally. He has received accolades for his teaching by numerous world-class cellists such as Yo-Yo Ma and Janos Starker and has been the feature of numerous articles in such publications as the Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, The Washington Jewish Weekly. Yo-Yo Ma also notes him as being a superb teacher of young children in a biography about him entitled, “Musicians with a Mission”, Pgs. 12-13.
Min Young Park has garnered international recognition for her artistry. She won First Prize at the Chopin National Competition in Korea and the Asia Chopin International Competition in Japan. After winning the Harrison L. Winter Concerto Competition, she made her Baltimore debut with the Peabody Symphony Orchestra under Leon Fleisher. In Korea, she has appeared as a soloist with the Prime Philharmonic and the SNU Symphony Orchestra. Her performances have taken her to major venues including Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Kumho Art Hall and the Seoul Arts Center in Korea, Salle Marius Ecole in France, and the Royal Irish Academy of Music.
An avid chamber musician, she performs with the Baltimore Chamber Players and Piano Duo Luminare and has appeared at festivals such as Music@Menlo, Taos, and Bowdoin. She graduated summa cum laude from Seoul National University, earned her master’s degree from The Juilliard School, and received her DMA from the Peabody Conservatory under Yong Hi Moon. She currently serves on the faculty of the Keyboard Studies Department at the Peabody Conservatory and teaches piano and musicianship at the Peabody Preparatory.
