Jewish liturgy is made up of 3 major categories: prayers, blessings, and rituals. During the time your family is preparing for b'nei mitzvah, your child will be engaged in learning and doing all of these things. In our liturgy class, as a cohort we will explore the particular liturgies associated with the Shabbat morning and afternoon services that our b'nei mitzvah students will be leading as they celebrate their coming of age in our tradition. We will ask questions like, "Where do the prayers come from?"; "How have they changed throughout the years?"; "Why do we say these prayers?" Come with your own questions and an open mind and heart!
