In this unique presentation Sweet will retrace his musical lineage back six generations in story, song and images. He will be performing with the BSweet Band which features Abe Guthrie (keyboards), Pete Adams (pedal steel), Lara Tupper (harmony vocals), and special guests.
Bobby's folk/Americana songs have been described as “mini-movies.” Stylistically, his music resides somewhere between John Prine, Jackson Browne, and a countryfied Bruce Springsteen. He is an engaging storyteller and a dynamic performer.
Between 2008 and 2016, Bobby toured the US and Canada as lead guitarist with Arlo Guthrie. His travels with Guthrie included performances at Carnegie Hall, the New Orleans Jazz Fest, and Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion, among many other landmark venues.
The Guthrie Center seeks to cultivate cultural preservation, promote educational achievement and foster community outreach to meet the ongoing needs of the community.
Founded in 1991 by Arlo Guthrie to honor the legacy of his parents, Woody Guthrie and Marjorie Mazia-Guthrie. The Guthrie Center offers interfaith services and spiritual exchange. Bringing individuals together for cultural, educational, and spiritual exchange. We work together with other non-profit agencies to serve those in need. In doing so we hope to create an environment where individuals can come together to cultivate a deeper awareness of culture, humanity and the environment of which we are all a part.
