ABOUT THE CLASS: Improv performers can sometimes struggle with how to start a scene. As soon as we step out from the backline, our minds can start racing… What is inspiring me? Where is my focus? What move can I make that’s interesting and honest? How can I give more gifts to myself and my scene partner? This class will explore those first few seconds at the start of a scene, how much amazing information is contained there, and how you can harness that information to make bold choices that can be the start of a great story. This class has a prerequisite of Intermediate Improv at Crossroads or comparable training at another organization. You will be asked to detail your experience.
ABOUT RALPH ANDRACCHIO: Ralph Andracchio (he/him) is a Philly based coach and for the past 13 years has been performing, teaching, directing, and producing comedy in some form all over the US. Whether at festivals, in classrooms, at colleges, or in corporate trainings Ralph has taught hundreds of students how to be more confident, curious, expressive, and connected through improv. And with his time at Philly Improv Theater as Artistic Director or as a curriculum consultant at Liberty Improv Theater he has always strived to use improv as a conduit to tell more stories, explore more relationships, and challenge performers and audiences to think differently about themselves and each other. When not performing or teaching, Ralph is a mindset coach and owner of True Engine Coaching helping clients in transition find their true purpose and live their best lives. He is also a co host of the popular podcast Hey Let Me Ask You Something, and along with Kristin Wood, LCSW strives to inspire more people to ask more questions and have more interesting conversations.
