The International Printing Museum, in Carson, California, has one of the largest collections of antique printing presses in the United States. We offer educational programs for school groups at the Museum, and also have a Colonial-style printing press on a trailer that can travel to schools and public events for living history programs.
Description
The International Printing Museum is home to the Book Arts Institute, which hosts half-day, full-day, and multi-day workshops in letterpress printing, paper marbling, screen printing, collaging, bookmakings, paper making, and more!
We’re delighted to announce our inaugural BOOK ARTS GUILD event on Sunday, September 14, which will feature a presentation and printing demonstration by Fugu Fugu Press's Ken & Shino Charlson. Fugu Fugu Press will also cards and stationery for sale.
Fugu Fugu Press is a greeting card company specializing in charming, letterpress greeting cards that celebrate the art of everyday correspondence. Founded in 2007 and operated by husband and wife team Ken and Shino, the studio was nestled in the foothills of Altadena, until it was destroyed in the recent Eaton fire. With a shared love for design, illustration, and traditional printmaking, Ken and Shino combine their talents to produce whimsical, heartfelt cards. Each card is thoughtfully illustrated, printed on a Heidelberg Windmill, using polymer plates. In this presentation, Ken and Shino will talk about how they built their business to what it was before the fire, and how the rebuilding process has been since.
