The Playwright's Workshop takes place on April 23, 2022 from 10:00 AM - 3:30 PM.  The fee for the workshop is $25.  (There are discounts if you want to purchase a workshop package online.) There will be a 30 minute break for lunch.  Box lunches are available upon request for $10.  We ask that participants present their vaccination cards or a negative COVID test.

These workshops are presented by a generous grant from The Nevada Arts Council & The National Endowment For The Arts.

The Playwright’s Map is a tool created by Suzan Zeder which I have used for 25 years to analyze and write plays. When used by dramaturgs this method clarifies author intent.  When actors apply this method to a text or to their individual characters it illuminates the seen and unseen desires, fears, strengths and obstacles they will use to create a nuanced performance.  For playwrights this tool is a method of creation.  Through applying the method, diligently creating and assessing the steps and analyzing the vectors a well written and thoroughly supported text can be created.  Emerging and experienced playwrights can benefit from using this tool in either the initial writing process or as a means to rewrite an existing text.
