On Saturday, May 6th, spend a beautiful spring day at Stratford Hall located in the Northern Neck of VA. Relax and enjoy locally crafted beer, wine, spirits, barbeque, live entertainment and more while experiencing this unique historic setting. 

 

The festival will take place in front of the c. 1738 Great House and outbuildings. Sip on a variety of Virginia made beverages, enjoy delicious barbeque and other foods from local food trucks, enjoy live musical entertainment, a vendor market, and learn about the history of barbeque and beer in colonial Virginia through historic cooking demonstrations. Historic cooking demonstrations will include short talks on foodways, brewing and grains, barbeque, butchering and more! Stay tuned for the list of demonstrators.

What does my ticket include?

 The admission ticket gains you access into the festival to enjoy the event, musical entertainment, historic demonstrations, the vendor market, and exploration of the 1800 acre property. All alcohol and food purchases (Tastings, glasses, and bottles) will be made directly to the brewery, distillery, winery and food truck of your choice.  

Bring your family and friends and spend the day in a Party Tent at the Brews & BBQ Festival!

For $300 you and an unlimited number of guests can enjoy a shaded, private space that includes a 15’x15’ frame tent and an 8′ long table. The party tents will be in a great location near the live music with a wonderful view of the c. 1738 Great House. Reserve your party tent from 11 am - 3 pm or 3 - 7 pm while purchasing your ticket!

What to Bring to the Festival: 

-You will need your photo ID to go through ticketing at the festival. Each attendee will be given an over or under 21 wristband. 

-You may bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit around the festival 

-You can bring bottles of water 

What to Leave Home: 

-Coolers and outside alcohol are not permitted at the festival 

Inclement Weather Policy

We'll do our best to proceed with the event as scheduled, but if severe weather prohibits us from hosting the festival Saturday, May 6, the rain date will be Sunday, May 7.  Stratford Hall may delay the start, interrupt, or cancel the event in the event of a weather emergency. In the case of weather postponement, we will work to secure a new date within 90 days of the original date. If we are unable to reschedule the event within that time frame, a refund will be issued. Stratford Hall is an open-air venue and cannot guarantee refuge to patrons in the event of severe weather.

Stratford Hall brings together people from around the world to experience two-thousand acres of natural and human history, preserved and presented so that we can all learn from the courageous struggles of our ancestors, taking inspiration both from what they endured and what they accomplished. 

Established by Thomas Lee in the 1730s, Stratford Hall is one of the great houses of American history. An important part of the Stratford Hall experience is an opportunity to learn about the courage and leadership of Richard Henry and Francis Lightfoot Lee as they signed the Declaration of Independence, and with their family, helped give birth to the United States of America. Visitors can also earn about other Lee family members, like Hannah Lee Corbin an outspoken thinker and one of our nation’s earliest known proponents of voting rights for women. And they can learn about the birth and early years of Robert E. Lee, who rose to become superintendent of the U. S. Military Academy at West Point, a leader of the armies of the Confederacy, and president of Washington College.

At Stratford Hall, visitors will encounter two-thousand acres of natural and human history, preserved and presented so that we can about our past, from prehistoric times to today, and we can honor the courageous struggles of our ancestors, taking inspiration both from what they endured and what they accomplished.
