Description

Join us for the Burbank Philharmonic’s New Works Series, featuring Songs of Innocence by Daniel J. McIntosh, with the composer himself accompanying on piano. This compelling set of songs, based on William Blake’s poetry, explores themes of childhood, innocence, and darker realities like poverty and loss. Soprano Marci Jackson, a champion of new works, will bring this music to life as part of their ongoing tour, offering an evocative, multi-sensory experience.

Daniel J. McIntosh, known for his innovative blend of post-minimalist and aleatoric techniques, is not only an accomplished composer but also a skilled performer and educator. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to hear the composer perform his own deeply personal work, which showcases the cutting edge of contemporary classical music.
