Business by Design is MODA’s event series that explores how design fuels innovation, solves complex challenges, and shapes the world we live in. We invite boundary-pushing creatives to share the bold ideas and design thinking behind their work.
About the Event:
Join us for a rich and eye-opening evening with Elaine Read and Matt Weynadt, founders of Xocolatl Small Batch Chocolate—Atlanta’s pioneering craft chocolate company devoted to transparency, sustainability, and the power of good design. The conversation will be facilitated by Gene Kansas.
In this edition of Business X Design, we’ll delve into Xocolatl’s origin story—from Elaine and her husband Matt’s eye-opening travels through Central America to the birth of their bean-to-bar company in Krog Street Market. We’ll explore how they built a purpose-driven brand that prioritizes ethical sourcing, ecological stewardship, and community education, all while creating some of the most delicious dark chocolate in the country.
Discover how design has shaped every part of their journey—from packaging that tells a story to factory tours that invite transparency, from flavor development rooted in terroir to the ethics behind every supply chain decision.
Whether you’re passionate about chocolate, sustainability, or thoughtful entrepreneurship, this conversation will stir your imagination and your appetite.
Come for the vision. Stay for the chocolate.
