Description
Bye Bye Birdie is a satirical musical about teen idol rock star Conrad Birdie, who gets drafted into the army; to boost sales, his manager Albert and secretary Rosie orchestrate a publicity stunt where Birdie gives one last kiss to a random fan, Kim MacAfee, on The Ed Sullivan Show, leading to chaos in Kim's small Ohio town as her boyfriend Hugo gets jealous and the townspeople deal with rock-and-roll fever. The show pokes fun at 1950s culture, teenage infatuation, and the generation gap, with plenty of high-energy songs.
