Bonnie Heine of Peace and Power Yoga will be joining Kimberley of Essential Balance Healing to create an opportunity to dedicate a practice to the evolving nature of our wheel while exploring our bodies through the four sacred directions and the elements associated with the seasons.
Classes will occur within the cycles of the seasons. Each class will begin with a 45-minute yoga practice based on the element associated with the sacred direction we are currently in relationship with. Kimberley will then guide you on an hour-long journey to further our relationship within that season, the direction and ourselves.
You may choose to journey with us for the entire cycle of the seasons or join in on any of the directions that you feel called to participate in.
In the November/December Movement + Medicine Wheel we will be throwing our wheels with a focus on the direction of the North, the season of winter and of beautiful slumber. We also welcome the Earth Element in the North direction. Winter is the time of year to remind us of what is hidden deep within ourselves and Mother Earth. As the blanket of snow quiets our busy lives and opens us to a slower pace of movement, we are invited into a time of reflection, exploration and stillness.
Bonnie will lead you through a Hatha-style yoga practice to feel rooted, stable and supported, honouring your connection with the Earth and the season. The focus will be to discover a sense of coming home and re-centring yourself, experiencing groundedness, calmness, clarity, and a knowing that you are right where you belong.
Kim will then offer a gentle reminder of the gifts of the North direction, and the wisdom that is held through our ancestors, and teachers of the North. Please remember that this class is intended for you to develop a deeper relationship and understanding of your personal wheel, so please review your notes of the North direction prior to class. This is an opportunity to expand and explore, not to revisit past teachings.
