Description

Join master storyteller Laura Packer for an online performance of the creepiest vampire stories ever told. Long before capes and castles, vampires were something far more intimate: The visitor with unreasonable generosity. The beloved with the palest skin. The neighbor with unnameable hunger. This evening gathers tales from east and west, ancient and contemporary, each its own exploration of what it means to be drained, desired, and destined. Highlights include Le Fanu's Carmilla, a rare jiangshi story, and a newly translated vampiric love story.

Many of these stories are obscure and out of the popular canon, and all of them are told in Laura's distinctive voice, which makes them even more delicious.

Content note: Vampire stories are, by their nature, disturbing and suggestive. Some of these stories explore queer desire, while others literally drip with blood. This concert is not recommended for anyone under 18 without parental consent.

This concert will be recorded, and available through Halloween. It is free for friend +Patreon supporters. If you'd like to support Laura on Patreon, sign up here.
