Burnside Exploration 2 reunites Grammy Award-winning artist Cedric Burnside with his Grammy-nominated uncle, Garry Burnside, for a powerful exploration of Mississippi Hill Country Blues.

 

Rooted in one of the most influential musical families in American blues history, the project honors the enduring legacy of the Burnside family while offering audiences a rare opportunity to experience the music through the unique lens of two generations performing together.

 

More than a concert, Burnside Exploration 2 is a journey through the rhythms, stories, traditions, and innovations that have shaped Mississippi Hill Country Blues. Audiences experience the deep family connection between uncle and nephew while witnessing a musical conversation that bridges generations and celebrates the continuing evolution of the Burnside sound.

FAQ

  • The showtime listed for the event is the time the event starts. Doors will generally open an hour before the listed show time unless otherwise listed.
  • We allow pets during the day, but not at night for music (anything after 7pm). Service animals are always allowed
  •  Please do not park in the Broad Theater parking lot. We have a parking lot for The Broadside and plenty street parking available on Toulouse and Lafitte. If you would like to be escorted to your car, please ask the Sheriff on duty. You may also park in the Auto Zone parking lot if they are closed. 
  • Our outdoor space has a variety of seating options such as benches, picnic tables, chairs, and stools. If you require a seat for health reasons or disability, please ask a staff member and they can provide you with a chair.
