The Burlesque Hall of Fame is a nonprofit museum committed to preserving, sharing, celebrating, and inspiring the art of burlesque. The organization manages the School of Striptease , it produces the quarterly fundraising show, Tease: A Burlesque Revue at The Space and produces the largest burlesque convention in the world, The Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekender which hosts the Tournament of Tease renowned for its Exotic World Competition. With a collection of several thousand costumes, stage props, photographs, and personal effects documenting the careers and lives of burlesque dancers, comics, and producers over nearly a century, the museum is a growing testament to the power and social impact of the art of the tease.

Explore sensuality through movement while playing a burlesque character onstage!
Students will meet once a week at Pole Fitness Studio from September 1st through October 6th. Class culminates in a group performance at the Burlesque Hall of Fame’s fundraising show, Tease: A Burlesque Revue at The Space on Saturday, Oct 10th.
Props and embellishments for costumes will be provided for use in class and during performance. Students will be responsible for acquiring costume bases which will be discussed in class.
Darby Fox moderates this class of Cool Cats! Darby has been performing as a stripteaser and emcee on burlesque stages since 2011. Drawing from her studies as a trained historian, and her over a decade of work as Curator for the Burlesque Hall of Fame, Darby integrates the naughty playfulness and comedy, that has historically always been a part of burlesque, into her acts. A native to the City of Sin, Darby is also a model specializing in pin-up, bellydancing, and is a life-long yogi. She has been a pose and performance coach since 2013. Using her years of yoga and modeling experience, Darby breaks down body movements for any mobility level, so that anyone can create beautiful shapes with their body on stage or in front of a camera.

The group performance will be at The Space on Saturday, Oct 10th, 5:45pm call time, showtime 8p-9:30p
This class is offered to all. The School of Striptease teaches using the motto, "all bodies are burlesque bodies."

Students are responsible to pay for any missed classes. NO DROPINS. Students must commit to full 6 week course. No refunds for missed classes. All sales are final. No admittance for missed payments. This course is scheduled to be taught in-person. The Burlesque Hall of Fame reserves the right to teach this course virtually, at its discretion.
