Description

Take inspiration from the beautiful Ushaw grounds,  and look closely at pattern and texture in natural items such as seed heads, leaves and bark to create your own unique piece of art, inspired by Karl Blossfeldt’s work.

There will be the opportunity to experiment with different skills and techniques - black and white charcoal on toned paper, white charcoal on black paper, subtracting tone with erasers possibly using rubbings to create frottage.

Participants can then select their favourite idea to work up into a more sustained piece.

Session hosted by Jayne Blacklock, who is an artist, illustrator and teacher that is based here at Ushaw.
