Description

Charlie McCoy is a Country Music Hall of Fame member whose harmonica and instrumental work have reached far beyond country music. Over the course of his career, he recorded with an astonishing range of artists—Elvis Presley, Paul Simon, Joan Baez, Gordon Lightfoot, Steve Miller Band, Ringo Starr, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, and Barbara Mandrell, to name just a few. At the height of his career, he was performing on hundreds of sessions a year, shaping the sound of both Nashville and the wider American songbook. His unforgettable solos can be heard on songs like Candy Man (Roy Orbison), He Stopped Loving Her Today (George Jones), and I Was Country When Country Wasn’t Cool (Barbara Mandrell).

For nearly twenty years, McCoy also served as music director for the long-running television classic Hee Haw and performed with Nashville’s elite in the Million Dollar Band. His contributions have been honored by inductions into multiple halls of fame and even an honorary doctorate in the arts.

Joining him for this special evening is Jason Coleman, grandson of piano legend Floyd Cramer. Jason brings the instantly recognizable “slip-note” piano style into today’s world with his own artistry, carrying forward a family tradition that helped shape the Nashville Sound.

This isn’t just a show—it’s a rare chance to witness two artists who embody the roots, the reach, and the ongoing story of American music.
