Chuck Prophet's Summertime Thing
at the Rio Nido Roadhouse
Friends, dig this: we’ve got a music festival. In fact, this will be the third year running of Summertime Thing. And it all goes down in Guerneville, California, on Saturday, June 27. Now, this may not be the biggest festival out there. But if you like Chuck Prophet music, it just might be the best one going.
A little background... Guerneville was once a redwood logging town. Later on, it became a vacation spot for the San Francisco crowd. And more recently, it’s been a haven for folks looking for an affordable place within a reasonable drive of the city. Just about an hour north. Easy peasy.
Guerneville is not quite the sleepy outback it used to be. These days, there’s all kinds of things to do, and all the telltale signs of what we used to call a “yuppie” invasion. Trendy coffee. A fancy over priced bakery. A couple used record stores (Yay!). Maybe even a spa or two where you can get a rubdown and detox — just remember to drink plenty of water. And friends, if you’ve ever felt like a hostage to loud music, this might be your kind of gathering. Because there’s a whole mess of other fun to be had, you can even cross the road and go old school and float down the Russian River on an inner tube. So bring the whole fam-dam.☀️

You can sit inside or out. It’s going to be a cool hang — that much I know. Don’t forget your sunblock!
Tickets are on sale now, so grab ’em while you can. And maybe book yourself a room for a night or two in Rio Nido or Guerneville. Make a little adventure out of it.
