Description
Cinematec: Reading Lolita in Tehran
In a city where silence is enforced, seven women gather in secret to find their voices.
Inside a private living room in Tehran, former professor Azar Nafisi and her most devoted students defy the authorities to study the very books the regime fears most. As the world outside tightens with fundamentalist rule, these women shed their veils, both literal and emotional, to explore forbidden Western classics.
What begins as a literature class transforms into a lifeline. Through the pages of Great Gatsby and Lolita, they navigate their own stories of love, identity, and defiance, proving that even under oppression, the imagination remains free.
DIRECTOR – Eran Riklis
