Join us as we celebrate one year of Clean the Block—our monthly, volunteer-powered effort to restore pride and cleanliness across Houston, with a special focus on Sunnyside.
From 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, volunteers will fan out to remove illegal dumping, litter, and debris from streets, sidewalks, and vacant lots. We’ll provide everything needed to make an impact—trash bags, cans, gloves, pickers, safety gear, tools, and hauling to the appropriate waste facility. Just bring comfortable closed-toe shoes and your community spirit.
Then from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, we’ll shift to a celebration at the park to thank our volunteers and neighbors. Enjoy a laid-back afternoon with BBQ fresh off the grill, sides and refreshments, music, lawn games, and a “kickback” vibe. Light brunch options and mimosas will be available alongside non-alcoholic beverages.
Why it matters: When we care for our blocks, we uplift our whole community—one cleanup at a time. Your time, energy, and presence help keep Sunnyside cleaner, safer, and more connected.
