Discover the creative possibilities of collagraph printmaking in this hands-on workshop inspired by the shapes, patterns, and rhythms of nature and abstract design. Join artist and art teacher John McCauley at the Magic Table at ARTicipation Studio & Gallery on Saturday September 12th from 2-5pm. Participants will create a unique printing plate using a variety of materials, then explore inking and printing techniques to produce a series of expressive prints.
Whether you're drawn to organic forms like flowers, stones, and flowing water, or prefer bold abstract compositions of shape, line, and pattern, this workshop encourages experimentation and personal expression. No prior printmaking experience is necessary—beginners and experienced artists alike will enjoy learning this versatile and accessible printmaking process.
Participants will:
Learn the basics of collagraph plate construction.

Experiment with inking and printing techniques.
Create original prints inspired by nature or abstract forms.
Leave with finished prints and a reusable printing plate.
All materials are provided unless otherwise noted. Come ready to explore, create, and discover the beauty of printmaking.
