The Columbus Guitar Society, founded by a dedicated group of classical guitarists in 1992, has grown to be one of the country’s most successful guitar societies. Under the leadership of Artistic Director, Eugene Braig, the CGS is the only organization to offer comprehensive programming for the classical guitar in the Central Ohio region.
Recognized as a leading interpreter of 20th and 21st century guitar music, critics have labeled Cristiano Porqueddu “a reference point for the new generation of musicians.” After having obtained high marks at the international Conservatorio di Musica “Lorenzo Perosi,” he is now involved in international activity that encompasses concert performance, composition, and more than 25 recordings (spanning more than 60 CDs via box sets!). Performances have included some of the world’s most important venues, such as New York’s Carnegie Hall and the Tchaikovsky State Conservatory of Moscow. And we’re sincerely excited for Cristiano’s Columbus debut!
