Description

This class will celebrate the benefits of batch cooking – to reduce meal costs, learn to cook wholesome healthy meals, spend just a few hours cooking for the whole week, minimise food waste and cut down the amount of packaging and plastic waste produced.

This class is designed for 16-25 year olds. Support and Key workers are welcome to attend but must purchase a ticket as well.

Cooking in pairs, our Community Cookery Leader will show you how to batch cook and portion your meals so that they can be properly stored/frozen; allowing you to have a ready-cooked homemade dinner available whenever you need it.

A typical lesson will include:

  • Meal planning for the whole week (ensuring that they are nutritious and balanced)

  • A cooking session (batch cooking for the whole week)

  • Knife skills

  • Preparing nutritious and tasty snacks (savoury and sweet)

  • Meals to package up and take home after the lesson.

£5  to cover the cost of ingredients.

Funded by the Enjoolata Foundation
