Description

Concordia University Irvine is pleased to launch the second Summer Chamber Music Camp in the Borland-Manske Center. Talented young musicians are invited to take part in intensive chamber programs led by distinguished faculty and guest artists. Participants will enhance their knowledge and musical skills while sharing the experience with peers and professional musicians.

Participants will be assigned to one or more groups and repertoire based on their levels. 
Certificates of completion will be issued to participants. 
All students will have access to the following programming.

  • Participants will be assigned to groups and repertoire based on their levels.
  • Each participant is assigned to one or more groups
  • The most advanced participants might get the opportunity to perform along with coaches.
  • Concerto competition:
    • Repertoire: One movement from a classical era concerto
    • The winner will perform the piece with a faculty ensemble
  • All groups are featured in the final concert on the last day of the camp

 

Instruments 
Strings : Violin, Viola, Cello, Double bass
Woodwinds : Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon
Brass : Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba
Piano, Harp, Percussion 

 

Ages
 5th grade and older
 Open to individuals or pre-formed groups (duets, trios, quartets, etc)

 

Application 
Video recording of one or two pieces that demonstrate your highest level of  
  musical achievement, uploaded to YouTube (unlisted) 
or other similar easily accessible video sharing website

Camp Dates
 June 20-June 30, 2022 (week days)
1st week:  Mon-Fri 10am-4pm
2nd week:  Mon-Wed 10am-4pm
June 30  Thursday:  tentatively 1pm -8pm with the final concert beginning at 6pm.
     (the schedule can be changed)

 

 Tuition: $1300
-  Performance-based merit scholarships will be awarded to exceptional musicians 
             -  Parents, If your child is under age 13, you might be eligible to apply for

- Non-paid Internship available for high school students

 

Lunch Package: $110 (optional)

 

Room and Board (for students from out of state and countries): $630
*Students under 18 years old who need room and board, must be accompanied by a guardian or chaperon

 

Refund Policy
No tuition will be refunded except for unavoidable emergencies subject to review by the Institute Administration.
