A 1992 recording of Gorecki's "Symphony of Sorrowful Songs" was one of the best-selling classical albums of all time. The minimalistic work includes 3 Polish songs sung by solo soprano - one a lament of Mary, another an expression of text etched into the wall of a WWII concentration camp, the third a folk song about a mother searching for her missing son during the war.  The concert will conclude with two reflective hymns arranged for orchestra and congregation by Dr. Christian Guebert '10.  (est. concert length: 70 minutes)
