Celebrate Constitution Day at James Madison’s Montpelier and experience a day of history, discovery, and family fun at the home of the “Father of the Constitution.”
Step into the very place where America’s founding principles were shaped and explore engaging programs, interactive activities, live demonstrations, and special exhibits designed for visitors of all ages. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a curious explorer, or looking for a meaningful weekend outing, there’s something for everyone at Montpelier.

Guided House Tours
Explore the Madison home through themed guided tours led by Montpelier’s interpretation staff.

Colonial Chocolate Demonstration
Historian Dontavius Williams will present a colonial chocolate-making demonstration in the reconstructed kitchen in Montpelier’s South Yard, highlighting the historical connections between chocolate production and American slavery.
