Experience the bold flavors and rich traditions of Louisiana in this hands-on Cajun Gumbo Cooking Class. Perfect for home cooks of all skill levels, this interactive class will teach you how to prepare an authentic Cajun chicken and sausage gumbo from the ground up.
You'll learn the secrets to creating a rich, dark roux, the foundation of every great Cajun gumbo, along with proper seasoning techniques, the "Holy Trinity" of Cajun cooking, and how to build layers of flavor that make this dish a Southern favorite. Along the way, you'll discover the history and cultural roots of Cajun cuisine while gaining practical cooking skills you can use in your own kitchen.
By the end of class, you'll sit down to enjoy your homemade gumbo served with traditional accompaniments, receive a take-home recipe, and leave with the confidence to recreate this comforting Louisiana classic for family and friends.

What to Expect
Great cooking is about more than just recipes- it's about celebrating culinary experiences with a foodie community. In this class, you'll learn with other students in a positive, interactive environment led by our professional Chef instructor.
Length: Approximately 2 hours (timing will depend on class size and flow!)
Format: Hands-On. Get ready to stir up your inner chef as you work with other students, typically in groups of four people, guided by the chef instructor. You’ll be standing and cooking during the class, so please wear comfortable, closed-toed shoes and have long hair tied back.
Make sure to bring your appetite because you will enjoy all the dishes created during class.
Restrictions: Ages 17 and older. Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult.
All sales are final. No refunds will be issued for any reason. If your plans change classes may be rescheduled with a minimum of 96 hours notice (4 days).
LBV reserves the right to cancel and/or reschedule classes as needed. (weather, illness, etc.) Though this is never our goal, if we need to do so, an email will be sent to the ticket holder with rescheduling options asap.
Experience Options
Premium Experience: Arrive up to 30 minutes before the start of class and enjoy a seasonal appetizer as well as your choice of one complimentary glass of beer, wine, or soft drink. (additional drinks available for purchase) Also, spend a little one on one time with our chef instructor!
General Admission: Enjoy a hands on cooking class experience with seasoned chefs and quality ingredients! We provide everything needed including Aprons! Drinks are available for purchase at the beginning and end of class - please ask your chef for assistance :)
