Description
This FREE two-part course will help you become confident in supporting others to cook. For example, you may want to teach young people to chop vegetables safely or maybe support people to become more confident in the kitchen.
Who is this for?
- Those interested in supporting others to cook confidently and safely
AND
- Work / volunteer at a community project in Sussex
Please note: we run a separate training session called ‘Cooking at Scale’ for anyone wanting to learn how to cook with large volumes. Please contact us if interested.

📍 Location: The Community Kitchen, Queens Road, BN1 3XG (fully accessible, purpose-built kitchen)
🥗 Ingredients, equipment & materials all provided
🥪 Lunch & refreshments included (please let us know any dietary/access needs)
Course dates
- Session 1: Tuesday 14 October, 10am–2.30pm
- Session 2: Tuesday 21 October, 10am–2.30pm
Cost
FREE for those work / volunteer in the community sector
⚠️ Please note: a £25 per person, per session no-show fee applies if cancellation is within 24 hours (to cover ingredients).
This course will be led by Jethro Carr, Community Kitchen Cookery Leader. It’s designed by the Brighton & Hove Food Partnership as part of the Food Use Places Project, Funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.
