Description

Virginia Youth Ballet presents the classic ballet, Coppélia.

 

This light-hearted story is joyfully told through classical ballet and folk dance. A magical toymaker’s lifelike doll has fooled a local boy (Franz) into falling in love with the doll, despite being engaged to Swanhilda. Swanhilda and her friends seek to uncover the truth of the doll, and by changing places with the doll, Swanhilda shows Franz his misplaced affection. In the end, all is forgiven and the two are married. Coppélia is an enchanting ballet, perfect for young audiences. 

 

Homeschool tickets will be available for $5 per person.   

Performances will be held:

Friday, March 8th, 2024 at 9:00 am, 10:45am, & 12:45pm

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the performance.  The performance will last approximately 1 - 1/2 hours.  Balcony or on the floor seating is available to homeschoolers.
